I am delighted to announce that I have been asked by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce to be a “Chamber Champion” for 2019, what an honour.
Building on my success providing LinkedIn training to businesses, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce hope to extend their networking reach and influence, allowing them to advocate on behalf of a wider cross-section of commercial enterprise.
The original business networking location
Founded in 1783, the Chamber of Commerce has always known the importance of using your contacts and connections to further your business goals. Whilst early meetings were held in the pub (the Tontine Tavern) the chamber soon moved into their own premises, and in 1877 moved to their current home on George Square in the city centre.
Today they provide a single voice to lobby Government to make it easier for members to trade, both locally and globally, whilst connecting local businesses with through regular networking meetings.

I am absolutely honoured to have been approached by the Chamber of Commerce for this role, and am looking forward to taking on my new duties.
The Chamber Champion is important in promoting the activities of the Chamber, through sharing news articles and event notifications.
Additionally, the Chamber Champion attends chamber events throughout the year, live tweeting and blogging about the experience. Attendees of LinkedIn courses in Glasgow will no doubt be encouraged to attend some of the chamber events to extend their own networks – and I look forward to meeting with some of you at future events over the course of the year.
